American Visions

“Anybody can do something special with a million dollars. But it takes someone really special to make something out of nothing.” — Grandma Tressa Prisbery creator of Bottle Villiage in Simi Valley California

The Ze Mean Bean show on Friday, Feb 10th was special to me, not only because my parents were in attendance, but because it featured several sing-alongs with the audience, including an impromptu “Amazing Grace” where Andy made his bass sing and groan.

Yesterday, I took my parents to The American Visionary Art Museum in Federal Hill. It’s my favorite museum, and a place I love to take visitors. There is something uniquely Baltimorean about its presentation of “America”. The visions there are often held together with gum. And it doesn’t make money off meeting expectations–it features a wide cast of unknowns. I always leave feeling refreshed and new.

You should go there.
